Other Projects

I am really proud to share this first song from an album that my brother, performing under the name Sous le Radar, is creating to talk about some very important changes needed in our societies. This song is about the MeToo movement and the oh so! critical importance of not keeping silent. Because he has experienced sexual assaults in then hands of a person he trusted when he was only a teenager, many of the songs — such as this one– are sung from his perspective, although at some level, the hurt and the pain and the fear associated with such traumas are common to both women and men, and, as such, female singers will perform some of the future songs to be released.

As for myself, I got involved when my brother asked me if I would write the lyrics for some songs he was working on, before telling me what had happened to him that took him down this musical road. As he revealed the reality behind the songs, I wondered, for a while, whether I could write truthfully about a trauma I have not experienced. Fortunately, I soon realized that I could draw on something I did experience as a kid in elementary school — even if it was less traumatic than what my brother lived through — and expand from there. I think that, together, we have created something not only meaningful but also beautiful, and I hope that people will find these songs just as meaningful and engaging and will listen to them to express themselves as well as to teach others.

Look for the new songs as they are released over the course of the year. As you will see, the musical styles are quite varied, as my brother intended in the hope of reaching the widest audience possible.

The second song released by my brother is titled Sunny Side. Like the first song, this one is about sexual assault and its consequences. This particular song talks about depression but remains luminous because of its hopeful message communicated through his son Olivier’s soft and captivating voice, and its retro and cinematographic style.

I hope you find it speaks to you or to someone you love, and that you will share it with all your friends and family because ending this harm done to our daughters, sisters, and sons too, depends on us not being silent, on us taking action.

Chérie is perhaps my favorite song because the music tells of the trauma all on its own. Even without the lyrics, one could feel what my brother is trying to say here. The final notes, when they arrive, complete a song that remains with me for quite a while afterward.

My brother and I are currently looking for a male voice to redo this song with more power and more emotion, hoping to release the final version by early 2026. And, we are also looking for a female voice to give life to another song in the works. If you have a powerful voice and are interested in participating in a musical collaboration that binds sound, soul and meaning together, contact him at sousleradar@outlook.com
