The first illustration for Eruption, Book 2 of Conquerors of K’Tara, completed today.

The scene is from chapter 4 of the book, where Toras, his guardians and their furans attack a band of Gnarlers inside their cave, and Root–one of the furans–is seized by a leader of the Gnarlers, a blubberous monster.

Michele’s art gives me chills. The lighting, with the flames; the erection of Root’s crest; the lacerations on the Gnarler’s arm…let me know what you think.
