On August 31 at 6:00pm, I will be at the Lido Panfilo, a beachside facility, in beautiful Termoli, Italy, for a literary event where allusiveness in literary art will be discussed with examples of poetry and translation.

If, by some luck, you should be in Termoli or in the area, please come visit. Paolo Pilati, my translator, will be there with me to talk about the translation of Conquerors of K’Tara, the process, and the terms and concepts that gave us difficulties. In particular, Paolo will talk about what influenced the style of the translation because I Conquistatori di K’Tara is not an exact transcription of the original; for instance, whereas I place the reader (through the narrator) closer to the action by using terms such as “here” and “now,” Paolo has instead chosen to increase the reader’s distance from the events.

Until soon, perhaps.
